Hampton Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities
The Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities was created in 1979 to be the catalyst agent to coordinate our City’s efforts for the equality of opportunity and access for our citizens with disabilities. VersAbility Resources (formerly the Arc of VA Peninsula)
VersAbility Resources supports people with disabilities in leading productive and fulfilling lives. We currently serve over 1,400 citizens with disabilities in employment, community living, day support, and early childhood programs. Our service area includes the entire Hampton Roads region, as well as the ten counties on the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck. Last year, individuals with disabilities participating in VersAbility’s employment programs earned more than $6.2 million in wages and benefits.

Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO)
The Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO) mission is to bring the joy and healing power of quality arts experience to people in health and dependent care environments. Through training, advocacy and outreach, ensure artists, caregivers and community volunteers have the tools and resources they need to create a variety of experiential arts programs for elders and others with special needs. In FY14, TAO presented 235 programs, including four regional workshops, in 70 locations in seven cities. 6300 attendees participated in music, dance, drama, poetry and visual arts programs and 252 artists were involved. 238 volunteers contributed more than 6,400 hours to support every aspect of TAO’s work.

We offer counseling services to children and adults, couples and families.
We work with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and stress, problems in adjustment, behavioral problems, and relationships.
We accept most kinds of insurance, and also offer a sliding scale based on family income and number of people in the household.
We are not equipped to serve clients suffering from psychosis, or those whose intellectual capacity would prohibit them from benefiting from counseling.

Hearing Loss Association of Virginia Beach
The Hearing Loss Association of Virginia Beach is a volunteer, nonprofit organization for people with hearing loss, their relatives and friends. Our purpose is to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing Information, Education, Advocacy and Support for all those with hearing loss and their families.
