Church of the Holy Family does not have a separate program for children with disabilities, but adjusts the curriculum of their religious education on an individual basis.  Also, they make accommodations for adults with disabilities and elderly parishioners wherever needed.  "If contacted, we will do everything we can to make sure all parishioners have the accommodations they may need to worship and participate in the life of the church."
Church of the Holy Family also hosts Young Life Capernaum, a non-denominational ministry for persons with disabilities.

St. John the Apostle Catholic Church provides a religious education program for children with special needs called, "Children of Light".  The program emphasizes each child's individual strengths and the gifts that they share.  The Children of Light Program serves children in elementary through middle school.  Each student is paired with appropriate educational resources based upon their individual needs.  Children receive services in the regular classroom setting with a special teacher assistant (inclusion), small self-contained classes or individual instruction for sacramental years.

Young Life Capernaum Club is a weekly meeting at a local church (locations in Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach) where people with disabilities come and enjoy food, fellowship, activities and games and they hear a message about Jesus Christ.  Club is from 6:30-8:00pm and everyone is encouraged to just be who they are and have fun.  In Capernaum, able-bodied and disabled come together and love on another just like Jesus taught us to love unconditionally.  Fun is always a high priority in Capernaum and we have two options for summer camping: Away camp and Day camp.  In 2010, Away camp will be held at North Bay in Cecil County, MD and Day camp is at Triple R Ranch in Chesapeake, VA.
